Bike to Binghamton from Philadelphia
It’s great to have friends who want to bike north from Philadelphia to Binghamton, New York. I was thinking about this, and it’s about 230 to 240 miles. You can go west through Tunkhannock, past Lake Carey where I lived as a kid. Or you can take the D&H Trail north from Simpson. This is the 2021 Pennsylvania Trail of the Year. I’m making the trail kiosks for at the moment.
My long-time friend Justin can bike up the Schuylkill River Trail to the Perkiomen Trail, catching the Delaware and Lehigh National Heritage Corridor to Jim Thorpe, White Haven and north to the Black Diamond Trailhead. From here, he can bike down to Wilkes-Barre and choose to camp at Francis Slocum State Park or rough it and camp in a State Forest by Carbondale.
I will post the rides on Ride With GPS in the next few days. Here are two trip ideas. But the question is, will he bike round trip or just one-way?
