Jenkintown bike ride – loop along Pennypack in Montgomery County

After working much of day on the Chapel Hill Bike & Greenways Map, I headed out on PJ’s Fuji Jari. For this version of the ride, I mostly kept to quiet streets, bike lanes, and trails to create a 15 mile loop.

This route works better for me than a ride to the Wissahickon because it’s a lot closer and the trail is in great condition. I would recommend this to someone who wants a stress-free ride away from cars that’s not too hilly. Near the end of the ride, Rydal Road was quiet because the crossing gate for a SEPTA train shortly after I crossed the tracks.

Trail heads through the fields. I assume this is part of the Pennypack Ecological Trust, but I'm not 100% certain.

Interesting that the bridge was funded by foundations.
