Reading John Marshall’s Life of Washington

Paul Bunting came by on Friday.  He showed me book two of a five book series on Washington and the Revolution, written by John Marshall.  And Paul left me with some photocopied pages about Lexington, Concord and Breed\’s Hill.  There was no Paul Revere mentioned.

While we were talking, I also learned about the Scheide Library at Princeton. It\’s home to things like the first book printed in English and a collection of Bibles printed in the 1400\’s.

Somehow the Rosenwald Schools came up.  Or maybe this was another conversation I had with Courtnay. The Abington Art Center, just a walk from my house was home of the Rosenwalds.  And it\’s so great to learn about the partnership between the Rosenwalds and Booker T. Washington to start schools for African-American children in the South.

After Thomas Jefferson, I was told that Rosenwald contributed the most to the Library of Congress and the National Archives.

I did find a digital version of Marshall\’s book.  Oh, there\’s so much to read. A little at a time.
